Kung meron nang facebook nung panahon nina Rizal . . . LOL!

The title says it all actually. :) LOL!!

Piece by piece because you won’t be able to read it in full size. JUST CLICK THE IMAGES TO ENLARGE.

I’ve noticed that my recent post is also about a Philippine Hero, but I’m not that patriotic. Hahaha. Just wanna let you all know. It’s just coincidence. ;)

José Protasio Rizal Mercado y Alonso Realonda

Since it’s Independence Day today, why not post something about our National Hero, José Protasio Rizal Mercado y Alonso Realonda. This was our assignment a few days ago for Filipino. I find it very interesting. I think he’s our very own Casanova. LOL. But he’s a very loyal and respectful man. Kudos to joserizal.ph for the article. Hope you’d enjoy this like i did.

Rizal, the Romantic

There were at least nine women linked with Rizal; namely Segunda Katigbak, Leonor Valenzuela, Leonor Rivera, Consuelo Ortiga, O-Sei San, Gertrude Beckette, Nelly Boustead, Suzanne Jacoby and Josephine Bracken. These women might have been beguiled by his intelligence, charm and wit.

Segunda Katigbak and Leonor Valenzuela

Segunda Katigbak was her puppy love. Unfortunately, his first love was engaged to be married to a town mate- Manuel Luz. After his admiration for a short girl in the person of Segunda, then came Leonor Valenzuela, a tall girl from Pagsanjan. Rizal send her love notes written in invisible ink, that could only be deciphered over the warmth of the lamp or candle. He visited her on the eve of his departure to Spain and bade her a last goodbye.

Leonor Rivera

Leonor Rivera, his sweetheart for 11 years played the greatest influence in keeping him from falling in love with other women during his travel. Unfortunately, Leonor’s mother disapproved of her daughter’s relationship with Rizal, who was then a known filibustero. She hid from Leonor all letters sent to her sweetheart. Leonor believing that Rizal had already forgotten her, sadly consented her to marry the Englishman Henry Kipping, her mother’s choice.

Consuelo Ortiga

Consuelo Ortiga y Rey, the prettier of Don Pablo Ortiga’s daughters, fell in love with him. He dedicated to her A la Senorita C.O. y R., which became one of his best poems. The Ortiga’s residence in Madrid was frequented by Rizal and his compatriots. He probably fell in love with her and Consuelo apparently asked him for romantic verses. He suddenly backed out before the relationship turned into a serious romance, because he wanted to remain loyal to Leonor Rivera and he did not want to destroy hid friendship with Eduardo de Lete who was madly in love with Consuelo.

O Sei San

O Sei San, a Japanese samurai’s daughter taught Rizal the Japanese art of painting known as su-mie. She also helped Rizal improve his knowledge of Japanese language. If Rizal was a man without a patriotic mission, he would have married this lovely and intelligent woman and lived a stable and happy life with her in Japan because Spanish legation there offered him a lucrative job.

Gertrude Beckett

While Rizal was in London annotating the Sucesos de las Islas Filipinas, he boarded in the house of the Beckett family, within walking distance of the British Museum. Gertrude, a blue-eyed and buxom girl was the oldest of the three Beckett daughters. She fell in love with Rizal. Tottie helped him in his painting and sculpture. But Rizal suddenly left London for Paris to avoid Gertrude, who was seriously in love with him. Before leaving London, he was able to finish the group carving of the Beckett sisters. He gave the group carving to Gertrude as a sign of their brief relationship.

Nellie Boustead

Rizal having lost Leonor Rivera, entertained the thought of courting other ladies. While a guest of the Boustead family at their residence in the resort city of Biarritz, he had befriended the two pretty daughters of his host, Eduardo Boustead. Rizal used to fence with the sisters at the studio of Juan Luna. Antonio Luna, Juan’s brother and also a frequent visitor of the Bousteads, courted Nellie but she was deeply infatuated with Rizal. In a party held by Filipinos in Madrid, a drunken Antonio Luna uttered unsavory remarks against Nellie Boustead. This prompted Rizal to challenge Luna into a duel. Fortunately, Luna apologized to Rizal, thus averting tragedy for the compatriots.

Their love affair unfortunately did not end in marriage. It failed because Rizal refused to be converted to the Protestant faith, as Nellie demanded and Nellie’s mother did not like a physician without enough paying clientele to be a son-in-law. The lovers, however, parted as good friends when Rizal left Europe.

Suzanne Jacoby

In 1890, Rizal moved to Brussels because of the high cost of living in Paris. In Brussels, he lived in the boarding house of the two Jacoby sisters. In time, they fell deeply in love with each other. Suzanne cried when Rizal left Brussels and wrote him when he was in Madrid.

Josephine Bracken

In the last days of February 1895, while still in Dapitan, Rizal met an 18-year old petite Irish girl, with bold blue eyes, brown hair and a happy disposition. She was Josephine Bracken, the adopted daughter of George Taufer from Hong Kong, who came to Dapitan to seek Rizal for eye treatment. Rizal was physically attracted to her. His loneliness and boredom must have taken the measure of him and what could be a better diversion that to fall in love again. But the Rizal sisters suspected Josephine as an agent of the friars and they considered her as a threat to Rizal’s security.

Rizal asked Josephine to marry him, but she was not yet ready to make a decision due to her responsibility to the blind Taufer. Since Taufer’s blindness was untreatable, he left for Hon Kong on March 1895. Josephine stayed with Rizal’s family in Manila. Upon her return to Dapitan, Rizal tried to arrange with Father Antonio Obach for their marriage. However, the priest wanted a retraction as a precondition before marrying them. Rizal upon the advice of his family and friends and with Josephine’s consent took her as his wife even without the Church blessings. Josephine later give birth prematurely to a stillborn baby, a result of some incidence, which might have shocked or frightened her.

Nine women was captivated by Rizal’s charms and millions of Filipinos admired him for his courage and bravery.

[VERY] RANDOM.

Since I still have to wait for about 1 and a half hour to have something to do. I’ll just post a very random blog.

What I’m waiting for is American Idol. First, because David A. would be there singing Touch My Hands, one of my favorites. Second, two people will be eliminated, I think it should be uhmm. . . Lil Rounds. Other than her, I can’t think of anyone else. She’s been disappointing these past few weeks. Sorry Lil fans. Before I wanted Adam Lambert to win the competition but lately I’m changing my mind, ’cause he’s always screeching and I don’t like it. I like something soothing like that of Kris Allen for example. Other than him I also like Anoop (Dogg), in fact he’s been mentioned in Ellen Degenres Show when he got eliminated, Ellen was like ‘Damn! I’m not gonna watch this season’, It’s not the exact words, really. I just think that’s what she’s thinking. LOL. Luckily he got back in the competition. (Yey!) My favorite songs would be Falling Slowly & She works Hard for the Money both by Kris Allen, Everything I do, I do It for You by Anoop Desai. I’m getting nervous for Anoop he’s been on the bottom 3 last week, but they’ll save him, for sure.

Another thing that I’d have to wait for is Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince. It’d be a long, hard wait. It’d be released in theatres on July 17. I think some parts would be in 3D if you’ll watch it on iMAX, so I already told my parents my plan of watching it there, of course they agreed! They’re HP fans too! We all read HP books (well, except my youngest brother). I’m on the final book now! The trailer was amazing! Haven’t you watched it yet?! LOL. It was the best trailer, ever! Even better than Twilight. And I think the Twilight movie wasn’t worth the wait, It’s kinda boring. Maybe because of financial issues, Summit Media isn’t as big as Warner Bros. I’m off topic again! Just wanna let you all know HP6 updates, especially for all the HP fans out there.

This summer’s way way way fun than last year’s. First, I went to water camp with my classmates. I already had a blog about this one. Second, Splash Island with my family. I had so much fun! and sunburn. XD We went there on Black Saturday, I can’t tell you anything about the experience now, Am Idol’s drawing nearer. But I do have an album on this , just look at my page. Third, Island Cove with my cousins. This was just a few days ago, I actually got a very high fever because of this. I had chills all night. But it’s okay, I’m feeling better now. There’s this other one at Splash Island again with my relatives naman that I rejected, I’ve already went there and besides my skin’s getting darker and darker. I think the last would be at Batangas this May, I don’t know the exact name of the place. It’d be fun because it’s on the beach, but I don’t think I’d swim anymore. I’m tired. I’ll just watch them and play on the sand or just have a little taste of salt water. And finally, I think I’d go to the David & David’s Concert with my father, but it’s not sure yet. I’m still thinking of going. I want to see Archie & hear him sing live but I’m getting busy. It’s the last month of vacation then so I have to prepare for school like back to school shopping(soo fun!) and uhmm. . . other. uhh. well other things to settle.

Finally. Ugh! The end of my random blog. I apologize for being so confusing and. . . uhmm. .  and. . . irritating? annoying? confusing? whatever! ha! :))

I’ll miss HER. ]:

Today. I’d never thought I would cry. No matter how many times I tell myself ‘Don’t cry, your strong’ it just won’t work. It’s just because one of the dearest persons in my world, one of the few trustworthy persons I met and my one and only ‘SALOT’ would leave us. She needed to go somewhere which is on the other side of the earth. I just can’t accept the fact that I won’t be seeing her for ages. I just wish she’ll be safe & happy.

Here’s something I made for her, it’s not much but I hope she’ll like it.

“WE ONLY PART TO MEET AGAIN”

I’ll surely miss you Princess Marinelle Bonalba Chia.

UPDATE:

LOL! I can’t stop myself laughing now. Someone sent me a message about this blog and I’ve figured to read it again. It’s so dramatic! I was crying when I wrote this  blog so. . . pag pasensyahan nyo na. ;p I’m not emotional or something, I wrote this when I was not myself, I don’t write blogs like this.. I was carried away by the atmosphere, like all my old classmates’ and friends’ status were composed of sad faces, they keep sending messages of despair. Sorry for this blog. PLEASE don’t judge, I’m not being maarte or O.A. LOL!

i KNOW, i’M BEING SiLLY.

VOTE EARTH:YOUR LIGHT SWITCH IS YOUR VOTE

This year, Earth Hour has been transformed into the world’s first global election, between Earth and global warming.

For the first time in history, people of all ages, nationalities, race and background have the opportunity to use their light switch as their vote – Switching off your lights is a vote for Earth, or leaving them on is a vote for global warming. WWF are urging the world to VOTE EARTH and reach the target of 1 billion votes, which will be presented to world leaders at the Global Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen 2009.

This meeting will determine official government policies to take action against global warming, which will replace the Kyoto Protocol. It is the chance for the people of the world to make their voice heard.

Earth Hour began in Sydney in 2007, when 2.2 million homes and businesses switched off their lights for one hour. In 2008 the message had grown into a global sustainability movement, with 50 million people switching off their lights. Global landmarks such as the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, Rome’s Colosseum, the Sydney Opera House and the Coca Cola billboard in Times Square all stood in darkness.

In 2009, Earth Hour is being taken to the next level, with the goal of 1 billion people switching off their lights as part of a global vote. Unlike any election in history, it is not about what country you’re from, but instead, what planet you’re from. VOTE EARTH is a global call to action for every individual, every business, and every community. A call to stand up and take control over the future of our planet. Over 74 countries and territories have pledged their support to VOTE EARTH during Earth Hour 2009, and this number is growing everyday.

We all have a vote, and every single vote counts. Together we can take control of the future of our planet, for future generations.

VOTE EARTH by simply switching off your lights for one hour, and join the world for Earth Hour.

Saturday, March 28, 8:30-9:30pm.

SLR. THE LAST BLOW.

08:20 a.m.

It’s unbelievable. I woke up early today. [; It’s because. . . I’m gonna go swimming! With my 2nd yr. pals and all time best mates(sounds familiar?), Saint Lorenzo Ruiz. I’ve just finished packing my things and everything.
Now I’ll just gonna wait. wait. wait.
I’ll update letter when I get home. That’s if I have the energy. Bye-bye.

09:25 p.m.

1_885217519l.jpg

I got home by 8:30 p.m. So exhausted! But I still have to endure my Mom’s rants. She never stops! ‘Why didn’t you text me?’. ‘I was calling you, your phone was off’, ‘I’ll never let you go out again, don’t try to ask permission!’, ‘Spend your summer IN the house.’ Blah! Blah! Blah!

But it’s okay, I don’t know why but I don’t feel much bad about it. Maybe because I really enjoyed the day. I can’t tell you the whole story, It’ll cost me 1 hr., and I have so much to do.

I really remembered the part when we are playing habulan and I was the first taya. It was fun but kind of embarrassing because I was running alone chasing after them and other people watch. We played it at the river-like pool. And we also played doctor quak-quak and I was again the first taya(geez!), but I solved it fast enough. I used to play it when I was a kid. We played this at the kiddie pool. And we also had caterpillar, we were holding each others feet & Mark drags us. We slide for like hundred times. It was funny ’cause Camille & Mother Rachelle was so afraid so we forced them to slide. And then they’re the boys are throwing us one by one into the pool, that was kind of irritating. and the other one’s the binyag. I was brought to the 5 ft. side of the pool, then they sunk my head and almost left me there. Errr. The rest, maybe tomorrow ’cause I really have a lot of work to do. Not to mention, tired. I think these haven’t even reached half of the fun times. Who knows? Maybe next year this would happen again.

The Tale of my Teeth

Since it’s almost vacation (Yey!). I decided to start blogging. You know how bored am I every summer.

Here it goes. . .

This afternoon I went to Great Smile Dental Ctr. for my Dental X-ray. I had to do this for my braces(finally). It’s so uncomfortable. There’s this big machine that revolves around my face && they’re taking like 20 pictures of my teeth (sideways, biting, normal, smiling, etc.). And they stuck something on my teeth that looks like white clay - she said it’s for the casts - and a yellow one that’s dipped into hot water(wonder what that one is). Not to mention they put two long mirrors inside my mouth and I had to open my mouth 3x larger than the regular.

After that, I went to my dentist for examination, and she told me I had to repeat one of the MANY X-rays ’cause she can’t see anything (not again) and I had my tooth extracted. It still hurts up to now. And I had to come back next week for some other examinations (sigh!).

I’m not going to have that Dental X-ray ever again.

. . .to be continued

HAPPY VACATION! ((:
